It’s been a little over a year since I graduated with my Masters degree, and I remember it just like it was yesterday.
I had been working full time while I was finishing up school, so I was one of the lucky ones…I had a job to look forward to post college.
It really amazes me, though, just how many graduates don’t have full time jobs. They’ve studied and studied, and tons of them have massive student loans to pay off, and yet, no steady salary to help them pay for it. That’s the reality these days…more than 50% of recent grads don’t have full time jobs.
And why?? Well, think about it…finding a job these days is ultra-competitive! On average, there are about 200 people applying for every job opening, and only about 2% are actually getting interviews.*

It’s definitely not easy anymore for us recent grads to land the kind of jobs we want post college. We worked hard, studied harder, and upon graduation, we need help. Big time. Luckily for us, companies like Fifth Third Bank are starting to take note of this, and they’re putting together programs to help us.
Fifth Third Bank has decided that we need help. So they’ve asked themselves, “could a bank help grads promote themselves and find jobs that they love?”
Yes, they’ve decided. Yes they can help us. And really, I think it’s an amazing thing that they’re doing here, and I’m blown away by their encouragement and generosity to us young people.
Fifth Third bank is giving away $1 million of one-on-one job coaching to help recent grads find jobs.
ONE MILLION DOLLARS!
I guess they really see the value in investing in our futures.
So every week, 80 winners will be matched with expert coaches from NextJob, a national employment company, to help recent grads get the job they want by engaging in job search coaching. FYI…job search coaching doesn’t come cheap. It’s valued at $1,000, so for these lucky winners, that’s a really great opportunity.
Coaching is all virtual, so it’s meant to be easy and convenient for job seekers. It includes interview prep/coaching, personalized resume editing, and it’s also designed to help grads find the 50% of jobs that aren’t even listed online.
Some of my favorite features include career testing & personality testing that help you hone in on careers that are good matches for you. I’m a huge advocate of these tests, because you know how confused some of us are post college? Most of us studied one thing in school and we don’t even know if it’s a career that we’ll actually like. Career & personality testing opens doors for us and helps us identify careers we may not even have known existed.
NextJob coaches will also be helping us create enhanced LinkedIn and Twitter profiles that are SUPER important these days when it comes to advertising our own personal brands. Recruiters are looking at these profiles, so the better put together they are, the better chances we have of landing that interview.
So what are you waiting for? Enter the contest! Maybe you’ll get lucky! But even if you don’t, everyone who enters is getting access to NextJob’s online training toolkit. Win-win for everyone here.
Here’s how you enter…
