I’m an absolute crazy nut these days!
I’m working full-time, managing my blog, promoting my new book, and still trying to find time to have a social life while not neglecting my hubby (or my cat).
I’m dead tired all the time, and finding that me-time that I desperately need is pretty much impossible.
But I’ve decided that I need to make having me-time a priority. I need to spend more time focusing on relaxing, recharging, and taking my mind off of the five hundred thousand thoughts that are constantly going through my head.
Joe was out working last night so I took the opportunity to have a date night…with MYSELF…and OMG it was everything!
So here are a few tips for having the perfect date night all by yourself! Enjoy!
Eat Yummy Food
One word: tacos! I swung by a local taco shop after work yesterday and picked up some yummy tacos!
I normally cook during the week, but since this night was all about relaxing, I treated myself to food that I love and the best part….zero cleanup required!
Slip Into Something Comfy
What better way to enjoy your date night for one than to come home and slip into something comfy? I’m at work all day in heels and stuffy clothes when all I really want to do is be home in my pajamas. So that’s what I did last night. Well, not just ANY pajamas. CAT ONESIE!!
It’s probably one of my favorite things I own. Laugh all you want, but this thing is super comfortable.
Turn Off Your Computer
For me, this one is huge. I spend all day on the computer at work, and then typically, I’ll come home and open up the computer some more. But how the heck can I have a relaxing date night by myself if my computer’s on and all I want to do is focus on a million other things? No, I can’t, so last night I closed my computer and allowed myself to just relax. I gave myself a night off from blogging and I needed it, big time!
Relax & Unwind With Movie Time
I can’t remember the last time I snuggled up in bed and actuall watched a movie without working on my laptop at the same time. So yesterday, that’s exactly what I did. I picked up a Redbox® movie on the way home from work and i curled up in bed to watch it.
I didn’t realize how much i needed that me-time, but today i feel so rested and ready to tackle anything that comes my way!
Treat Yourself To Something Sweet
I’ve been eating a whole lot healthier these days, but yesterday was all about treating myself, so I had some Haagen-Dazs® ice cream!!!
In bed, ladies and gentlemen! I was in heaven. And then this guy curled up in bed with me and yea, looks like he likes ice cream too!
So yea, that was my night yesterday, and it couldn’t have gotten any better! That, my friends, is how you have the perfect date night with yourself!
Oh and here’s a cute printable for your guys! I hope it’ll serve as a reminder to relax and enjoy yourself every once in a while!
FYI, I picked up my Haagen-Dazs® at Walmart in the ice cream aisle…
And right now at Walmart, Haagen-Dazs® and Redbox are teaming up to help you plan some me-time for yourself. Buy any (2) Haagen-Dazs® products at walmart, text “Redbox” to 35350 for receipt submission instructions, upload your receipt and you’ll get a code for a free Redbox movie night!
So head on over to your nearest Walmart and plan yourself the perfect date night with some Haagen-Dazs® and Redbox!
(And for those of you who are local, Walmart will be hosting a demo on 6/30/16 at the 8400 Coral Way store, so be sure to check that out! Click here for more demo dates and locations.)
