This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group® and Milo’s Tea Company, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #MakeItWithMilos http://my-disclosur.es/OBsstV
When your husband’s from Alabama and you find Milo’s Sweet Tea at the store, you grab a couple gallons and make him a cocktail because #bestwifeever.
LOL, honestly, Joe and I haven’t had a lot of alone time together as new parents of a 4 month old, so the other afternoon I thought it’d be fun to make him a drink that we could enjoy when he got home from work. Thing is, I’m not a bartender by any means, so any recipe I make has to be quick and easy. So today I’m sharing a super simple recipe for a bourbon sweet tea I made him with Milo’s which turned out to be a huge success!
Oh and now that summer’s right around the corner, this is the perfect recipe to include when planning all those fun summer get togethers.
I mean, especially here in Miami, it’s so darn hot outside, so there’s nothing more refreshing than a glass of Milo’s Tea. And if it’s spiked with some whiskey or a little bourbon? Even better!
Bourbon Sweet Tea Ingredients
1/2 gallon of Milo’s Sweet Tea
30 ounces of bourbon
5 ounces of simple syrup
Mint (for garnish)
Fill a pitcher with ice cubes to keep drink nice and cold
Pour half a gallon of Milo’s Sweet Tea into pitcher
Add bourbon and simple syrup
Serve + enjoy!
You can also just serve this to taste. Since making this recipe for Joe, sometime’s he’ll just pour a glass of Milo’s and add a little bourbon or whiskey to it. But always over ice. Sweet tea just doesn’t taste right if it’s not super cold.
BTW, I love any excuse to pull out this cutting board we got as a wedding gift years ago. Makes food prepping so much more enjoyable.
Anyway, back to the recipe, anytime we’re at a southern restaurant, Joe likes to order sweet tea. But being from Birmingham, Alabama, he always teases that there’s no better sweet tea than Milo’s Tea. For years I thought we’d have to travel to Bama to experience this amazing sweet tea he’d always rave about, but the other day I found Milo’s at my local Target in the refrigerated juice section and I was so excited! Check out the store locator to find out where they sell Milo’s near you.
So here we go…one for him and one for me!
So why Milo’s? What’s the big deal?
Well, it’s fresh brewed, features natural ingredients, and includes no preservatives or added acids. It’s available already sweetened with pure cane sugar, but there are also no calorie and unsweetened options – whichever you like best.
Needless to say, Milo’s Tea is THE perfect drink for summer entertaining and get-togethers. We’ll definitely be buying some for our summer beach vacation this year (helloooo Panama City Beach!) and I’m pretty sure it’ll be a hit!
Need an excuse to plan an outdoor party featuring Milo’s?
Here are a few holidays to keep in mind:
- Memorial Day (May 28th)
- National Iced Tea Month (June)
- National Iced Tea Day (June 10th)
- Father’s Day (June 17th)
- Fourth of July (July 4th)
Cheers from the both of us! Hope your summer’s as sweet as Milo’s!
