Right now you’re playing on your play mat but you’re starting to get fussy (what’s new?), so I’ll keep this short and sweet.
Baby girl, being your momma has brought me so much joy (not a lot of sleep… but so much joy).
I’ve loved watching you grow over the past two months.
I’ve loved watching you discover the world around you – curious about everything.
I’ve loved waking up next to you every morning and doing our morning stretch together.
And when you’ve smiled at me – God, that smile…nothing’s ever made me so happy.
You definitely made an entrance into this world and I’ll never forget how sad I was when I couldn’t hold you and be with you those first few days you spent in the NICU. The second we were told we could take you home – that was the happiest moment of my life.
Staying home with you everyday is everything I’ve ever hoped for and more. You’re my bff and as you get older, we’ll get to do so many fun things together. Right now though, looks like we’ll just continue with these photoshoots!
Now I don’t want you to grow up anytime soon, but when you do, I’ll tell you stories about all the boys who broke my heart and the hearts I broke too. I’ll tell you about your daddy (even though you’ll be like ewwww gross) and how lucky I was to fall in love with him.
And if there’s ever a Valentine’s Day (or any other day) when you’re feeling sad or lonely, know that my love for you is so great that I can’t even put it into words, and that I will ALWAYS be happy to be your Valentine.
And get you chocolate.
And ice cream.
Because that’s what good mommas do.
Happy first Valentine’s Day my sweet baby girl!
