5 Easy Ways To Spruce Up Your LinkedIn Profile

With the new year right around the corner, this is the PERFECT time to make sure your resume’s up to date and in order. Today my friend Tori’s sharing some really great tips that’ll help you with your LinkedIn profile because let’s face it – it’s just as important as a paper resume these days.

LinkedIn: the ultimate networking and career-building website out there. Serving as a digital portfolio, it’s the Resume 2.0. It allows you to showcase yourself as more than just a professional, but also a person you’d want to grab a drink with after work.

As a social media marketer, Linkedin is usually a perpetually-open tab on my Mac. In addition to growing the LinkedIn profile for the company I work for, I love sharing my own blog posts about entrepreneurship and marketing. After recently starting my own #sidehustle, LinkedIn became even more important for building a quality portfolio and connecting with those who need social media and marketing assistance.

Anyone can have a LinkedIn profile, especially in this day and age. All it takes is responding to that pesky invite email in your inbox. It’s exponentially harder to have one that accurately and energetically conveys what you’re all about, and can be used to build new relationships

Instead of spending hours perfecting your profile, it’s smarter to focus on a few key items that will really make an impact. As the new year approaches, it’s time to give your profile the spruce-up it needs…without a complete upheaval. These 5 easy updates will add to your profile’s content and direction: try them out on your holiday plane-ride home or while in line at Target returning those maroon towels your aunt got you.

Guest Bathroom Holiday Decor

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #QuiltedHoliday  #CollectiveBias

Alright guys, with the holidays right around the corner, I definitely wanted to step up my game this year.

Because even though Joe and I have been buying holiday decorations here and there, last year our guest bathroom was super plain Jane. AKA – zero Christmas decorations.

We’ll likely be hosting guests over the next couple of weeks, though, so I wanted to make sure that our guests felt welcome in a space that was fun and festive!

Hence my visit to Target.

How I escaped their holiday section without spending a fortune is one of the biggest mysteries of all time.

Because everything was gorgeous and I wanted to buy it all.

Yeti Microphone // Kate Spade Planner // Kate Spade Notebook // Sony Digital Camera // Business Card Holder // Selfie Light // Coffee Mug // Tripod // Blog Topic Ideas // Kate Spade Computer Bag // External Hard Drive

I just spent a good three hours online making my Christmas list, so I figured I’d round up a whole bunch of awesome gifts for bloggers. Because it’s hard to understand what it’s like to be a blogger, unless you are one yourself, so friends, – I got cha.

I told Joe that I wanted some new font packs and  stock photos for Christmas and he just stared at me and was like, “what the heck is wrong with you woman?” But you know what I mean, right?! This season, most of us don’t need extra stuff that we’ll use once and forget about. Instead, we want to invest in our online businesses, so these are all great gifts to put on your wish list. Enjoy!

Adulting 101: Fun Facts About Your Dishwasher

A huge thank you to Cascade for sponsoring today’s post and teaching me things I didn’t know about my dishwasher!. As always, all opinions are my own.

Alright peeps, how many of you guys use a dishwasher? Do you even DO dishes? Or are you one of the lucky ones who’s mom still does them for you? If that’s the case, enjoy it while it lasts!

I’ve been doing my own dishes for a long time now, and you know what? It’s one of the things that I hate the most on this planet.

I don’t know why, but it’s one of my least favorite chores. Ugghhhh I gotta come to terms with it though, because I have to cook occasionally so I don’t starve and die.

Thankfully my dishwasher makes things a whole lot easier for me, but I recently learned a few things about this dishwashing process that I didn’t know before. Yep, at 26, I just learned this stuff now. Better late than never!

How To Host A Holiday Party That Doesn’t Suck

Christmas used to be fun.

We used to celebrate the holidays with our families and people would actually interact with one another.

But you know what a lot of holiday parties look like these days?

Everyone sitting  around the couch on their phones and iPads.

What the heck is THAT?!

Even grandpa’s on his phone! On Facebook!
