Keeping Your Teeth White During Pregnancy With Tom’s of Maine

Thank you Tom’s of Maine for sponsoring this post!

One of the many things I didn’t know when I got pregnant was just how important it is to keep your teeth healthy during these nine months. Turns out, during pregnancy, your risk of oral health issues tends to increase, and that my friends is no bueno. So today I’m partnering with my friends at Tom’s of Maine to show you how I keep my teeth nice and shiny.

It’s not that I’ve neglected my teeth for the past 27 years, but prior to my pregnancy, I didn’t put much thought into the kind of toothpaste I used. Now that I’ve got a little one inside me though, things are a little different, and I’ve been a lot more selective about the kinds of products I choose to use.

In terms of my toothpaste, I’ve been on the hunt for something that’s as natural as possible, but something that can still make my teeth white. You know, we’ll be taking lots of pictures (like the one below) in the months to come, and aint nobody got time for yellow teeth! That much, I’m sure of.

So that’s where my new favorite toothpaste comes in. As I’ve become more conscious about what I put in and on my body, this Tom’s of Maine Luminous White toothpaste has been a lifesaver! It offers safe, effective whitening with only naturally-derived ingredients that work to remove surface stains for whiter teeth in just two weeks. Fast and effective. Me gusta.

Oh and thanks to these wonderful things called hormones, one of the things I’ve discovered is that your gums tend to swell a lot during pregnancy. That swelling can then cause your gums to bleed more frequently, so one of the best things you can do to prevent that is to obviously make sure you’re brushing and flossing, but to also use a soft-bristled toothbrush like this Tom’s of Maine Naturally Clean Toothbrush. A softer toothbrush means less irritation, so yes, this one’s my new fave.

Again, it’s amazing how much you can discover about products when you finally take the time to read the labels. As a first-time obsessively crazy new mom-to-be, my paranoia has been at an all-time high and I now read product labels on just about everything. This toothpaste passes the test, though – no artificial flavors, no colors or preservatives, and no animal testing. Plus, it’s gluten free! Doesn’t get much better than that.

So if you’re trying to keep your teeth healthy and bright like I am, then I definitely suggest you pick up a tube of this stuff. Order it on Amazon or go buy some at Target, whichever you prefer.

Now bring on the mommy/baby photo sessions! I’m so beyond ready.

I was selected for this opportunity as a member of CLEVER and the content and opinions expressed here are all my own.
