I’ve Become A Crazy Cat Lady & I’m Totally Ok With That

I used to hate cats. Like big time, hated cats. I thought they were gross and smelly and I think I was also semi-afraid of them on some level.
But then one day about 4 years ago, I found this guy in a parking lot. I put him in a box, took him home, and my life changed forever.
My parents HATED cats and would have never let me have one, had I asked for permission. But once they got to know him and saw how cute he was, they loved him and he was instantly a part of the family.
Come on… could you really send that cat back? Not so much.
Graham’s the prettiest cat I’ve ever known, and he’s also my best friend. I mean, really…look how pretty he is. This is one of his modeling shots….
Let’s see…what else is there to know about him?
He knows how to party. Caught him stealing my margarita the other day…
He likes to take selfies…
No matter how many toys I buy him he’ll always prefer to play inside boxes and paper bags…
And when he’s not feeling good, I take care of him as if he were my child.
Because he is…let’s get that straight. God, I love this cat so much.
He also has a thing about taking pictures with me. It’s like he’s on a mission to NEVER take a good one when it’s just me and him.
See?? One day we’ll get it right.
Now the first couple years of his life, it was just me and him. But when I moved in with Joe, Graham came with me, and I was nervous for a bit about whether or not Joe would get along with him. It’s really funny because Joe will spend so much time telling anyone who’ll listen that he hates our cat. But he doesn’t…
He really really doesn’t. And that makes me love him so much more.
I mean, how cute is our family portrait?
So now that it’s pretty clear that I’ve officially become a crazy cat lady and I’m happy to admit it, you can see that being able to provide Graham with the very best of everything is super important to me.
That’s why I love shopping at Target for all my pet needs. While I’m there picking up my everyday essentials and spending a ridiculous amount of money on all the beautiful things I may or may not have any space for in my house, I’m able to pick up Graham’s IAMS cat food too.
Target’s got a really nice pet section where you can find pet supplies, toys, treats, and pretty much anything that you’d typically have to go to a pet store for. But instead of having to make that extra trip, you can get it all done in one place. And I don’t know about you, but I don’t have the time or the energy to go to 5 different stores on the weekends. Unless I’ve got a gift card for shoes. That’s a totally different story.
So yea, I usually leave Target with a few toys that he’ll play with ONCE, and his IAMS cat food. I really love that the brand offers formulas for different life stages and for specific common needs, because all pets are different, and it’s important to cater to their lifestyles.
Graham, for example, needs to go on a serious diet. He’s like 16 lbs! Because he’s lazy and stays inside all day and doesn’t get much exercise. That’s why I buy him the IAMS Protective Health Indoor Weight and Hairball Care formula. It’s absolutely perfect for that fatty!
Anyway, in case you’ll be shopping at Target during the next few weeks, be sure to checkout these Cartwheel deals that’ll be going on:
- 10% off IAMS dog food (includes both wet & dry) (Expires 7/25)
- 10% off IAMS dry cat food (Expires 7/11)
- 5% off IAMS wet cat food (Expires 7/11)
Any little bit helps! All of us pet owners know that taking care of our fur friends can get expensive sometimes, but it’s totally worth it!
