How do I feel about that?

Well, to be honest with you, these haven’t been my most profitable months. I’m still super grateful that I’ve been able to make some extra cash on the side, but I need to step up my game a bit.

Yes, I’ve had a lot going on. Yes, I’ve been somewhat slacking. But at the same time I know my income’s dropped a bit because I’m spending more time working on my own digital products that I’m hoping to launch within the next few months.

Where does the majority of my income come from?

At the moment, the majority of my income is generated through sponsored content. And as much as I like writing and getting paid to do it, it IS a lot of work and I find myself say no to a lot of opportunities because I can’t handle the volume.

That being said, my goal for this year is to #1 have my own products to sell, and #2 to nail down a much better strategy for affiliate marketing.

I’ve already started making money through affiliate marketing, but I know I can get those numbers up. And if you haven’t ventured into that world yet, I highly recommend this book from Elise from House of Brazen.

She teaches some very basic affiliate marketing fundamentals and walks you through an easy strategy for making money with a little help from Pinterest. Definitely worth checking out.

What’s next?

Over the next few months, I’ll be working on an e-book and a course so that’ll keep me pretty busy. I’ll also be working on optimizing the site because in case you haven’t noticed, I recently updated my blog theme for the first time in FIVE YEARS so I still have a lot of cleaning up and fine tuning to do. Then, there’s the issue of traffic. I’m happy to say that my traffic has definitely increased as a result of the theme change, but I still want to work on increasing traffic and bringing new readers to the site.

So that’s all I have to report at the moment! Looking forward to a successful quarter ahead!

I’ve been reading your income reports since you started them and I’ve loved seeing your growth through all of them. I’d love to know where you find the miscellaneous sponsored work, are those companies that approach you directly or through a third party?

I definitely agree it’s really hard to turn down blogging for extra money! I think it’s awesome that you’re even making $600ish a month! That’s definitely nothing to scoff at for sure!
